The Boston Celtics may not have a clear-cut answer for who'll replace following the trade which brought Kristaps Porzingis to town, but if they're looking for experience, John Wall seems to be ready to roll.
Wall, who held a private workout for teams in Las Vegas on Sunday during the 2023 NBA Summer League, was the first of multiple players who opted to hold a workout.
In attendance for that workout? Although the full list hasn't been revealed yet, The Athletic's Kelly Iko reported the Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers opted to see how Wall looked.
Obviously, there's nothing that points to either team showing interest in potentially adding Wall, but the move could make sense for Boston.
Wall, 32, played in 34 games last season for the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 11.4 points, 5.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 40.8% from the field. He saw just 22.2 minutes per game, but certainly showed flashes of his playmaking ability and the fact he has plenty left in the tank.
Wall was not on a roster for the 2021-22 season, but the year prior played in 40 games for the Houston Rockets and had a solid year statistically.
He logged 32.2 minutes per game over that stretch, posting marks of 20.6 points, 6.9 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 40.4% from the field.
It'll be worth monitoring what other teams were in attendance for Wall's workout, but even more interesting to keep an eye on if his showing is enough to land him on a roster ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Oggi e sottolineo oggi, questi sarebbero per me gli 11 in rotazione per la RS.

A questi si accompagnerebbero Kornett, Champagnie e Walsh che hanno un contratto garantito (e fanno 14).
Se prendessimo Wall vorrebbe dire rinuciare a Griffin e mi spiacerebbe molto, ma potrebbe avere un senso.

Davison avrà un 2 vie e non entrerebbe nel conteggio.

I soliti bene informati riferiscono di un eccellente workout di Harry Giles III cui hanno assistito parecchi dirigenti NBA.
Lo dico perché il ragazzo è molto amico di Tatum e già in passato si era parlato di un interessamento per lui.
Certo ha un passato di infortuni non esattamente incoraggiante, ma se accettasse un contratto a 2 vie... chissà...

In an interview on the Old Man and The Three podcast, ex-Heat guard Gabe Vincent spoke about Miami’s win over the Celtics back in the East Finals and highlighted some revealing issues that may have held Boston back in the matchup. “I think first off, Boston is a hell of a team and was a hell of a team these last two years,” Vincent said. “Tatum and Brown raise a lot of havoc for the defense. “It almost seemed like to me, truthfully, they had something going on over there. Despite our gameplan, so much has to go right to win in this league and if you aren’t fully right internally, it shows in different ways.”
“I obviously don’t know if they were or weren’t right internally but that was my feel I had,” Vincent. “There were moments of attack, you get the right matchup and you attack. Jimmy leading the way with his paint touches and Bam being aggressive and keeping them out of transition. That was a huge one for us. If we can get you into the half court, we have a chance. “I think last year, they were better defensively when we lost to them in the East Finals. This past year, something didn’t seem as right whether it was their rotations or connectivity, whatever the case may be. I think any bit of weakness we saw, we jumped on it.”

Vincent dice inaffrontabili per la difesa i primi, disconnessi i secondi come se ci fosse qualcosa tra loro che non andasse.
Allora, deduco io, per il front office la colpa era di Smart e Williams III?
Si risolve tutto con Gingis e dando 300 mln a Brown?

mah sinceramente usare un ‘intervista a Vincent come prova di ciò che era palese a tutti mi fa pensare che tu non abbia ancora elaborato il lutto.
