The Boston Celtics won't know all of their picks in 2019 NBA Draft until after Tuesday night's lottery. But they haven't just been sitting on their hands.
The Celtics and other NBA teams have been busy hosting players for workouts ahead of the 2019 NBA Draft Combine, which begins this week in Chicago.
Here is a full list of prospects the Celtics have had in for workouts to date, courtesy of NESN's Chris Grenham:
- Jaylen Nowell, Washington
- Cameron Johnson, North Carolina
- Bryce Brown, Auburn
- Shamorie Ponds, St. John’s
- Tres Tinkle, Oregon State
- Steven Enoch, Louisville
- Justin Robinson, Virginia Tech
- Alpha Diallo, Providence
- Obi Toppin, Dayton
- Joe Wieskamp, Iowa
- Justin Wright-Foreman, Hofstra
- CJ Elleby, Washington State
- Terence Davis, Ole Miss
- Chris Clemons, Campbell
- Nathan Knight, William & Mary
- Courtney Stockard, St. Bonaventure
- Anthony Lamb, Vermont
- Max Strus, DePaul
- Jarrell Brantley, Charleston
(You can add Quinndary Weatherspoon to that list; the Mississippi State product reportedly worked out with Boston last month.)
Johnson is the biggest name to know here, as the UNC product ranks No. 22 on ESPN.com's NBA Draft big board and has been tied to the Celtics in a few mock drafts.
What C's fans should watch for at Draft Lottery
Ponds, ranked ESPN's fifth-best point guard in this year's draft class, could be an intriguing second-round target for Boston depending on the futures of
and
, who both could leave in free agency this summer.
Expect the C's to ramp up their workouts in the coming days after the lottery balls determine the fate of their first-round picks Tuesday night in Chicago.
